Hartford Place features a group of apartments where adults with various disabilities live independently, many on limited incomes. Hartford Place residents requested food, bath and household supplies this holiday season. Students at the school donated 30 laundry baskets filled to the brim with grocery gift cards, towels, and kitchen, bath and laundry products.

4/2/11 Spelling Bee Winners CHICO — Four Butte County students, two of whom attend Notre Dame School, will be going to the state spelling bee championships. The first two finishers in both elementary and junior high school categories both go to the state championships. In the elementary school category, Ryan Bolf, a fifth-grader from Ponderosa School in Paradise, took first, and Rowelle Marino, a sixth-grader from Little Chico Creek School in Chico, took second. Caroline Sajben, seventh grade, and Becca Korte, eighth grade, both from Notre Dame School, finished first and second respectively among the junior high contestants. 4/11/11 Community Snapshots: Proceeds From Ash Wednesday Lunch More than 200 students at Notre Dame School gave up their regular lunchtime fare on Ash Wednesday to raise money for those in need of daily meals in the Chico community. Parents and staff prepared vegetable soup and rolls, which students purchased for lunch. Sales from the lunch totaled $322, which was donated to the JesusCenter.
