Notre Dame School

Thursday, May 25, 2023, the fourth through eighth-grade students and staff sat in silence as Kyle Bryant, a motivational speaker, spoke of his life before being diagnosed at age 17 with Friedrich ataxia and now living with ataxia. 
Kyle is the uncle of Aubrey(7th) and Keller(2nd)Bryant. He came to NDS to speak about Friedreich Ataxia, a rare genetic disease that attacks the nervous system. Beyond the disease, Bryant told of his life changes and challenges. Rather than focus on the negative, Bryant told the students about the power of positive thinking and deliberate actions to help anyone reach beyond their limits and live a bolder and bigger life no matter the circumstance.   
At the end of this emotional presentation, the students of Notre Dame wanted to help raise awareness for ataxia. The Student Council came up with Free Dress for a Cause. Knowing that we have done a lot of fundraising this year, they are asking for any amount to be brought in if a student wants to wear Free Dress on Thursday, June 1, 2023. All money collected will be given to the curefa organization.
