March has been the start of the NDS read-a thon>. The theme for this year is Open a Book, Open a Door. Eowyn and Izzy, in the 6th grade, drew the prize-winning poster advertising our month-long event.
Each week, the student body is challenged to reach a new goal in reading. Students log their minutes, and the top readers each week are rewarded. Last week, students participated in a book swap, sharing books across all grade levels.
To finish out the month, students will dress as their favorite author or character and have the chance to interact with some of the school's published authors.
